The bus remain the cheapest way to reach the capital of Hungary from other European countries. Check the service offered by Volanbusz or Eurolines , which both connect Budapest with the major European cities.

By Car:

The fastest way to reach Budapest by car is passing through Austria, passing for Vienna, until the border to Hungary near Hegyeshalom, then take the highway M1 or E60 until the capital.

We remind you the use of anti-dazzle headlights and  seat belts, which are compulsory both on front and back seats. Speed limit is 50 in town and cities, 110 on state roads and 130 on highways.

To travel on any Hungarian roads you must purchase a mark called autopalya matrica, which can be found at the border or bought directly on the website: www.autopalyamatrica.hu
